Awful, right? So uncreative, though. The "get back in the kitchen and make me a sammich" thing is so tired. It's like they just want to sound cool so they spew misogyny. Gross.
Is it because of things like that that Feministing is so insular? I've found the only times my comments get published there are when I'm in 100% agreement with something said.
Even if I respectfully disagree and state why, in a clear, concise, non-combative way, my comments are never allowed to show up.
If their reasons for doing that are fear of excessive trolling, I can somewhat understand, though.
black thirteen, not sure why you've had that experience with Feministing. Before their current comment policy (which has only been in effect for not even a week) they automatically published ALL comments. Now they moderate a bit more (like i said, this just started this week) because of excessive trolls in response to a vlog on youtube. If you submitted comments there this week, not sure what happened... prior to this week though - they would have gone through and not been moderated.

"Okay: poof, you're a sandwich. Undoubtedly a vast improvement. Next?"

Well, the ones prior to this week may have been deleted, I don't know, really.
Though, I made roughly 5 or 6 this week, and I believe 2 of them showed up.
Sort of made me give up on the site. I like being able to present my input, rather that sit idly and never get to say anything.
